Who’s raising money?
We are Brown Line Vineyard, a Jesus-centered faith community and church named for Chicago’s Brown Line “L” train. We exist for Lincoln Square and for the people of Lincoln Square -- not to convert people, but to make life better, deeper, and fuller for people, by following the lead of Jesus.
Why support a church if I’m not religious?
When you give to Brown Line Vineyard, you give to the bettering of the Lincoln Square community, not to some hidden agenda. Brown Line Vineyard is a church that is trying to do something unique — bringing people from different backgrounds and experiences together to learn from each other, and heal divides in our world the way Jesus did. We want people to feel more connected to each other, more invested in Lincoln Square, and to increase the social fabric of our city. We acknowledge that many have had bad experiences with churches or religion (we have too!) and we want to assure you we will not be preaching at you at this event... or ever. Help us make our area an even better place to live!
How would my money be used?
Every dollar we raise is put to use in one of four ways that correspond with our values:
(1) To host people in services, retreats, and events that are enjoyable, communal, comprehensible to anyone, and that promote meaningful life-change
(2) To pastor people forward in their own unique, lifelong journeys of personal growth, by staffing our community with pastors who can teach connectively about the way of Jesus, talk about life over coffee or drinks, and care for people in times of need.
(3) To welcome people of all backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and experiences through advertising that seeks to shift what people would expect from a church
(4) To bless our neighbors & neighborhoods -- that is partnering with other good and accountable organizations to pursue equity and justice, and to show compassion to those on the margins of society.
